Mercy Health is seeking a fellowship-trained Hip & Knee Total Joint Replacement Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing orthopedic team in Toledo, Ohio. This is an outstanding opportunity for a surgeon who wants to build a high-volume, high-quality total joint replacement practice within a well-established system supported by a strong internal referral network and experienced multidisciplinary team.

With an established total joint replacement program, robust clinical infrastructure, and opportunities for teaching and research, this position offers the resources and support to help you grow your practice while delivering exceptional patient care across Northwest Ohio.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Build and grow a high-volume total joint replacement practice with a strong, established internal referral network.
  • Perform a broad mix of primary and revision hip and knee replacements, with the opportunity to incorporate select general orthopedic cases as desired.
  • Join an established inpatient and outpatient total joint replacement program with a 70% same-day discharge rate for outpatient total joint replacements.
  • Benefit from a dedicated multidisciplinary team, including Orthopedic Coordinators, physical therapists, and experienced clinical support staff.
  • Utilize a comprehensive preoperative total joint replacement education program and PatientIQ for patient-reported outcomes, engagement, and research.
  • Provide approximately 7 days of call coverage per month at a community-based Mercy Health hospital.
  • Collaborate with experienced orthopedic colleagues and a strong referral network throughout the region.

Academic & Professional Development

For physicians interested in teaching and advancing the next generation of orthopedic surgeons, this role offers an opportunity to serve as Orthopedic Clinical Faculty.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Research infrastructure and dedicated research support

Ideal Candidate

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Fellowship-trained in Hip & Knee Total Joint Replacement
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
  • Interest in teaching, mentorship, and/or research is highly valued
