The Department of Emergency Medicineis seeking an Advanced Practitioner (APRN or PA) to provide diagnostic evaluation and management of acute medical complaints for children and adults, presenting to the Emergency Department, or being observed in the ED's Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). Care for CDU patients will be based on problem-specific evaluation and management protocols. Primary responsibilities for all assigned patients include ordering diagnostic testing, obtaining consultations, performing simple procedures within the advanced practitioners scope of practice, prescribing medications, directing the administration of medications by nursing staff, and ensuring an appropriate disposition plan. Patients will be cared for in a variety of locations including but not limited to ED FAST Track, CDU, or general ED.
